Serving 14 years plus for his Queen and country. 7 years with the Royal Engineers, during this time, Des Carried out several deployments to Iraq, 4 years in Germany and visited Canada and Poland and being selected for promotion to corporal. After a year in to civilian life it was plain to see that he was missing the camaraderie from military life and he re-enlisted into the reserves for a further 7 years with the UK Special Forces Reserve
After leaving the forces, Des chose protecting people in conflict areas as a civilian, 5 years carrying out Close Protection and Ant -Piracy in the following areas: Yemen, Nigeria, Togo, Sudden, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tanzania, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, India and Sri Lank.
After witnessing several of his friends and peers suffer from post traumatic stress disorder, following their time in conflict, Des co-founded Combat Pest Control with a simple belief that he had to help his fellow Military Veterans.
Des and Combat share a simple vision:
• Provide and advocate meaningful employment for Military Veterans.
• Educate and assist children in conflict.
• Protect their clients.
• Support injured service personnel.
